John McDonald is the Federal DoD Sales Director for Commscope.  John leads a dedicated team of sales professionals who focus on delivering innovative communications solutions to U.S. Department of Defense customers.

A native of Rochester, Minnesota, John graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1993 and was commissioned in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer.  He served 6 years active duty with the 25^th Infantry Division, 75^th Ranger Regiment and US Army Infantry School.  During this time, he served as a rifle platoon leader, reconnaissance platoon leader, ranger rifle platoon leaders and Infantry School instructor.  He completed his military service in 1999 and transitioned into a civilian career in Information Technology sales.

Now a 20-year plus IT sales veteran, John has worked for several leading technology companies in different sales and sales management roles before coming to Commscope thru the Arris/Ruckus acquisition in 2019.  John has a wide degree of sales experience in both hardware and software as well as in commercial enterprise, service provider and federal markets.  His true professional passion is serving those who serve and helping them accomplish their mission thru innovative technology.
