CommScope’s SMM300G Switch and Management Module can help you enhance and maximize the performance of your ultra-broadband network, including mobile backhaul. Compatible with both the C100G and C40G CCAP, the SMM300G provides superior line rate forwarding and lightning-fast 300G bi-directional switching throughput in a one-slot form factor. To maximize throughput speeds, you can install two SMM300G modules in a C100G chassis (though not a C40G chassis) for an aggregate throughput of 600G. The SMM300G is also equipped with a 1+ terabit backplate that enables you to constrain end user speeds at various points, while ensuring your network has adequate bandwidth allocated between the module’s switch card and line card to assure maximum throughput.

The SMM300G has a comprehensive set of switching and routing features that support a wide range of services, including MPLS, BGP (IPv4 and IPv6), and L2 VPN. The module also provides the precision timing services—including IEEE 1588v2 Precision Timing and SyncE—you’ll need to support ultra-broadband services in general and mobile backhaul in particular. The SMM300G also features a variety of management interfaces—including CLI, Telnet, SSH, SNMPv1, 2,3, TACACS+, and Radius—that provide you with flexible network management options.

Highly reliable, the SMM300G features 99.999% availability and supports hitless failover to ensure your services are delivered to your subscribers on a consistent basis. For further reliability, the SMM300G runs in Active-Active mode on the data plane and Active-Protect mode on the control plane while providing 1+1 redundancy.
