All other factors being equal, stronger signal strength is correlated with higher data transfer speeds up to the point where the maximum Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) rate is reached. The key is to have a rate adaptation algorithm optimally balance performance and reliablity to deliver peak AP output on the fly.
