Good News At Home

It’s cool to get special recognition in the place you live and work, especially so in North Carolina, which has been home to CommScope’s headquarters since Day One and is where nearly 2,000 of us are employed. CommScope was named an award finalist by the North Carolina Technology Association in the NCTA 21 Awards. We were honored to host N.C. Gov. Beverly Perdue and other state and local officials at a press conference and groundbreaking ceremony October 8 at our Hickory headquarters.

It’s cool to get special recognition in the place you live and work, especially so in North Carolina, which has been home to CommScope’s headquarters since Day One and is where nearly 2,000 of us are employed.

First, CommScope was named an award finalist by the North Carolina Technology Association in the NCTA 21 Awards, an annual competition held by the organization that serves as the primary voice of the technology industry in North Carolina. Winners will be announced at a November 10 awards gala in Durham. CommScope is a finalist for an Award of Excellence in the category of Public Companies.

Secondly, we were honored to host N.C. Gov. Beverly Perdue and a host of other state and local officials at a press conference and groundbreaking ceremony October 8 at our Hickory headquarters for the initial phase of expanding the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN). CommScope is one of the vendors chosen by MCNC, the non-profit leading this project, to support the initial phase of an estimated $40 million fiber optic expansion of NCREN.

Gov. Perdue led the ceremonial kickoff of the project by helping load the first reel of CommScope fiber optic cable onto a truck, as shown in this photo.

We are so proud to be chosen for this multi-million dollar project that has the potential of providing tremendous, long-lasting benefits to the state and its residents. And, with all the hard work done by our employees every day, it was especially gratifying to see the company and its people in North Carolina recognized in such a high-profile manner.
