Finding In Favor Of CommScope’s Burk Wyatt

Burk’s award is symbolic of the quality of people who are part of the global CommScope team.

What company doesn’t enjoy celebrating the achievements and accomplishments of its employees? It is truly a feather in the cap of any company who can talk about how its employees are excelling in what they do. This year, CommScope has had the pleasure of highlighting several of employees whose work was recognized by others outside the company. The latest to join the “march to the podium” is Burk Wyatt.

Burk has played an instrumental role in CommScope’s success, working mostly behind the scenes. Burk is CommScope’s senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, and has been with the company since 1996. He also serves as chief compliance and ethics officer. Burk has been vital to the continued growth of this company by assisting in many of the acquisitions we have made during his tenure, and in leading a function that handles the legal, regulatory and compliance complexities of a multibillion dollar company with employees and facilities in all parts of the world.

His hard work and dedication was recognized last month by the Charlotte Business Journal, as he was one of six corporate attorneys named to its 2012 Corporate Counsel Awards list.

Nominations were evaluated by a panel made up of members from the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Charlotte chapter and the Charlotte Business Journals’ editorial staff. Winners were placed in categories based on the size of their departments, and Burk was named Outstanding Corporate Counsel with a staff consisting of 11-30 people.

This is the second such honor Burk received this year. Back in January, he was named to Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite list, an accolade he has achieved five out of the last six years.

On behalf of everyone here at CommScope, I’d like to congratulate Burk on this honor. Burk’s award is symbolic of the quality of people who are part of the global CommScope team.
